University of Washington Press (UWP) has selected Liverpool Distribution Services (LDS) as its exclusive print distribution partner for the UK and Europe, and non-exclusive partner for the rest of the world outside of the Americas.
Launched in 2024 and now representing five university presses, LDS has expanded rapidly in its first year. Building on LUP’s 125 years of success in academic publishing and through working on behalf of University of Michigan Press, University of Georgia Press, Michigan State University Press and most recently University of Pittsburgh Press, it offers a comprehensive suite of sales and marketing services as well as valuable insight, from our shared experience, into a changing global market.
Liverpool Distribution Services sits alongside the well-established Liverpool Subscription Services, which provides journals subscriptions management for a range of mission-based publishers.
UWP Director, Nicole Mitchell, shared: “We are delighted to be partnering with Liverpool University Press for distribution in the UK and Europe. Anthony Cond and Jennie Collinson immediately understood the strength, relevance, and potential reach of our dynamic interdisciplinary lists. We look forward to partnering with the LUP team and to joining their growing group of highly regarded US client presses.”
LUP Chief Executive, Anthony Cond, added: “With an outstanding team publishing under the distinguished leadership of Nicole Mitchell, the University of Washington Press has a storied history and a current book list that we will be honoured to amplify.”
The new agreement commences 1 January 2026, and orders will be supplied by LUP’s fulfilment partner, Wiley Distribution.
