Liverpool University Press to Publish the Journal of Transport Economics and Policy from 2026

Liverpool University Press (LUP) is pleased to announce that, beginning in 2026, it will become the new publisher of the Journal of Transport Economics and Policy (JTEP), one of the world’s leading journals dedicated to the economics of transport and its intersection with public policy.

First published in 1967, JTEP quickly established itself as an essential forum for high-quality scholarship, debate, and evidence-based insight. For more than five decades, the journal has played a pivotal role in shaping the international discourse on transport economics, informing policymakers, academics, and practitioners alike.

Today, JTEP continues to provide a much-needed focus for this specialised and rapidly evolving field, offering a single accessible resource that brings together global research addressing the diverse challenges of transport systems across the world.

Clare Hooper, Director of Journals Publishing at LUP commented:

“We are really pleased to welcome JTEP in 2026, the journal is a long established and valuable resource for policymakers, scholars and practitioners in the economics of transport. We are looking forward to working with the editorial team to continue to publish essential research in the field”.

Daniel Graham (Imperial College London), Editor in Chief of JTEP commented:

“The Journal of Transport Economics and Policy has always sought to be a leading international forum for rigorous and influential research in transport economics. We welcome theoretical and empirical contributions at the cutting edge of our discipline, alongside work that addresses real societal challenges. Our partnership with Liverpool University Press from 2026 provides an outstanding platform to enhance JTEP’s global reach and influence, and to continue supporting high-quality scholarship that informs academic debate and public policy. I look forward to working closely with our community to further advance the dissemination of excellent research in the field.”
