French Studies: The interviews (1985–2025) | A Virtual Issue

French Studies is published on behalf of the Society for French Studies. The journal publishes articles and reviews spanning all areas of the subject, including language and linguistics (historical and contemporary), all periods and aspects of literature, thought and the history of ideas, cultural studies, film, and critical theory. These areas are understood expansively and with reference to any part of the world within which French is spoken. The journal’s review section is unmatched in its breadth and its quality.

This virtual issue of French Studies brings together interviews published by the journal since 1985, featuring six of the most significant writers of this period: Annie Ernaux, Abdellah Taïa, Marie Darrieussecq, Nathalie Sarraute, Richard Ali A Mutu, and Catherine Malabou.
