Following the launch of Peter Moore’s memoir, Game Changer: Playing to win at Xbox, EA Sports and Liverpool Football Club, Peter reflects on the publication of his new book and the journey which inspired it.
Last week marked a milestone moment for me: the launch event for my autobiography, Game Changer, at the Waterstones in my hometown of Liverpool.
When I first sat down to write this book, I wanted it to be more than just a memoir. I wanted it to be a story about the power of reinvention, resilience, and chasing opportunities, even when they seem out of reach. From the streets of Liverpool to the boardrooms of global companies, from the dugout at Anfield to starting a professional football club in California, my journey has been anything but straightforward.
Game Changer takes readers behind the scenes of some of the biggest moments in football, video games, and sports marketing over the past few decades. But it’s also a deeply personal reflection on the risks I took, the lessons I learned, and the people who helped shape my path.

Why did I write it? Because I believe there’s something universal in my story. Whether you’re a football fan, a gamer, or simply someone curious about the twists and turns of life, this book is about believing in yourself when the odds say otherwise. It’s about finding ways to adapt, to pivot, and—when necessary—to completely change the game.
My hope is that readers not only enjoy the anecdotes and insights but also come away inspired to write their own version of a game changer story. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on this journey. I can’t wait for you to read it.
