The editors of the Catalan Review are pleased to announce the first Prize for Best Article published in the journal. The prize will be given biennially to the most innovative and high quality original research paper appearing in the journal over a two-year span. For the current cycle, articles published in issues 36 (2022) and 37 (2023) will be considered. The prize will be awarded at the 19th North American Catalan Studies Colloquium in Minneapolis, MN from April 18th-21st, 2024.
Published on behalf of the North American Catalan Society, Catalan Review accepts contributions such as research articles, translations, and book reviews dealing with all aspects of Catalan culture. The editors and editorial board are sympathetic to a broad range of theoretical and critical approaches and are strongly committed to presenting the work of talented young scholars breaking new ground in the field.
William Viestenz, Chair of the Department of Spanish & Portuguese Studies, Associate Professor of Spanish and Global Studies, and Editor of Catalan Review, said:
‘We are delighted to announce the first Prize for Best Article published in Catalan Review. The development of the prize signals an important step in the support of scholarly researchers in the field of Catalan studies and we are pleased to provide a platform for this going forward.’
Prize: The winner will be awarded a certificate, $400 USD, and an announcement on the North American Catalan Society webpage with a link to the article.
Guidelines:
a. All articles published in the Catalan Review will be considered automatically without the author being required to submit a nomination request.
b. A committee composed of members of the NACS will select the awardee.
c. If the committee is unsatisfied with the pool of articles, the prize will be left unawarded for that cycle.
Els editors de la Catalan Review convoquen el primer Premi al Millor Article publicat a la revista. El premi es presentarà biennalment a l’article més innovadora i d’alta qualitat durant un termini de dos anys. Es considerà per aquesta convocatòria articles publicats als números 36 (2022) i 37 (2023). Es presentarà el premi al 19è Col·loqui de la North American Catalan Studies Society a Minneapolis, MN USA del 18 al 21 d’abril de 2024.
Premi: Un certificat, $400 USD, i un anunci a la pàgina web de la North American Catalan Society amb un enllaç a l’article.
Particularitats:
a) Tots el articles publicats a la Catalan Review entren directament al premi sense
necessitat de que l’autor faci cap sol·licitud.
b) Un comitè de socis de la NACS (que canviarà en cada edició) farà la selecció.
c) Si el comitè no està satisfet amb la qualitat dels articles, es deixarà en blanc.
