Liverpool University Press to publish The Shandean from 2024

Liverpool University Press is delighted to announce the publication of The Shandean from 2024.

The Shandean is a scholarly journal dedicated to the life, work and times of Laurence Sterne (1713-1768). Founded in 1989, it has earned an unequalled reputation for promoting research into all aspects of Sterne’s life and writing, foregrounding new discoveries in the field, and illuminating many aspects of Sterne’s reception, with a particular strength in material and visual culture. A large reviews section and a list of books received keep readers in touch with recent publications.

This new partnership with The Shandean marks another valuable addition to the extensive collection of Literary Studies journals from Liverpool University Press, whilst also providing a scholarly reach into the broader contexts of eighteenth-century literature and culture, crossing over into Irish studies. Strengthening ties through its interdisciplinarity across various branches of scholarly research, Liverpool University Press is delighted to have the journal on board.

The journal will appear once a year in the autumn in a new online format.

The new online journal, together with digitised issues of all volumes from 1989-2022, will ensure that work on Sterne and on eighteenth-century literature and culture will continue to thrive.”

The first issue under the new publishing agreement will be published in November 2024 and will be fully available online on the Liverpool University Press website. Online access to the archive of the journal will be made available to all subscribers.
