Trailblazers announces new member institutions

We are delighted to announce that Liverpool John Moores University, the University of Wolverhampton, and the University of Reading have joined Trailblazers, the Open Access initiative for ECRs developed by Liverpool University Press, Lancaster University Library, the University of Salford Library and the University of Liverpool Library.

Maria Follett, Researcher Engagement and Collections Manager at Liverpool John Moores Library Services reflected on their participation in the initiative:

“Joining the Liverpool University Press Trailblazer Initiative offers early career researchers here at LJMU an exciting opportunity to participate in an innovate and supportive publishing model, which will enhance visibility and collaboration. It aligns with our goals of fostering cutting-edge research and broadening our scholarly reach.”

Stuart Bentley, Scholarly Communications Librarian at the University of Wolverhampton said:

“The University of Wolverhampton feels privileged to be able to take part in Trailblazers, which allows us to show our continuing commitment to expanding open research practice. It offers our institution an opportunity to support individuals at an early point in their career, during their first experience of open access monograph publishing, when such guidance and training is much needed and can be hard to find.”

Chrissie Willis-Phillips, Associate Director (Scholarship & Planning) at the University of Reading said that:

“The University of Reading is delighted to be joining the Liverpool University Press Trailblazers initiative as it aligns with our strategic aims around excellence in research and producing sustainable research. The scheme will be of huge benefit to Early Career Researchers and offers them the opportunity to participate in a transparent and supportive publication process and increase the impact and profile of their research.”
