Expanding LUP: new staff, new Ireland office

As part of ongoing expansion, Liverpool University Press has made a number of new appointments:

Clare Litt, Group Publishing Director for the Casemate Group, has been appointed Senior Commissioning Editor for Classics and Medieval Studies.  Litt, an Oxford Classics graduate, was formerly Editor-in-Chief of Oxbow Books.

Christabel Scaife, head of the Dublin office of the Peter Lang Publishing Group, has been appointed Senior Commissioning Editor for Literary Studies and Irish Studies and will run a new Ireland office for LUP.  Scaife was formerly a Commissioning Editor for Palgrave Macmillan.

Anne Nolan, a director of Ashgate Publishing for more than a decade before its sale to Taylor & Francis, joins LUP to provide Head of Sales maternity cover from October.

Meanwhile, Catherine Pugh and Lydia Osborne join from Oxford University Press and the education sector respectively as part of the books marketing team, with Moira Reid moving to a dedicated journals marketing role.

Anthony Cond, Managing Director of LUP, commented: ‘Liverpool University Press has been consistently blessed with an outstanding, dedicated team that fundamentally understands the traditional quality expectations of university press publishing but embraces new ways of working and the affordances of digital.  This latest investment in staffing underscores LUP’s commitment to serving our authors and readers as their needs evolve.’
